The Flying duck Orchid (Caleana major) flowers in summer in Tasmania.

This plate was inspired by a friend that found that she has some on her property on the East Coast of Tasmania.

The plate was thrown on the wheel using white clay and uses the sgraffito technique for the design.  It has flashes of yellow under the black slip.

It weights 0.90kg and measures 25cm in diameter.
